How does the Program Work?

NaSBAP makes it easy to offer the SBA Course! Under a user agreement, NaSBAP offers community colleges, universities, utilities and similar providers a complete package of curriculum and resources to support offering the course in their community. The curriculum package includes:

  • Electronic files for preparing a Student Notes Handbook, containing learning material for each unit
  • An Instructor's manual for teaching each unit
  • Course planning guidelines and forms
  • Marketing resources and templates
  • Planning and development assistance
  • Online CSBA Exam

Each SBA course provider arranges for course logistics, instruction and guest speakers, site visits, and marketing and registration.

One Course: Offered Nationally, Tailored Locally

As a local provider of the SBA course, you will be able to tailor the instruction of the course to your regional area. Access to regional information, guest instructors and resources are one of the many reasons why students love the SBA course.

You don't need to worry about curriculum development - NaSBAP has already developed, and annually updates, the nine-month Sustainable Building Advisor curriculum, course material and CSBA Exam.See the course outline.

In addition, the SBA course is approved as a Level 400 Mastery Course under the US Green Building Council Education Provider Program, which offers a clearinghouse of education programs that have undergone review by the USGBC.
